Those who live in Brevard’s southern-most beach communities already know Melbourne Beach Market is the place to go for wine, craft beer or hot, prepared meals.

Now market owner Charlie Zubi has something new in the works that should draw food fanatics from across the Space Coast and beyond. Ocean 302 Bar & Grill, a rustic-modern restaurant next door to the market, is set to open sometime in November or early December.

The cavernous dining room is decorated in earthy tones of brown and copper. Giant letters announce EAT and DRINK.

There’s a large, inviting bar, but this is more than a neighborhood watering hole.

There are TVs, too, but this isn’t another sports bar.

And there’s a wood-fired pizza oven in the back corner, but Ocean 302 is more than pizza.

With its open kitchen, community dining tables and muted lighting, Ocean 302 looks like it’s going to be the perfect blend of upscale and casual.

Ocean 302 Bar & Grill is at 302 Ocean Ave., Melbourne Beach. Follow the restaurant’s progress and get updates on its opening on Facebook.
