col·lab·o·rate (verb) – to work with another person or group to produce or create something A1A-mazing

Through the astonishing efforts of an extraordinary community, following are a few newsworthy highlights we thought might interest you; the most recent is listed first…

All aboard the Flagler Art & Wine Shuttle!!! What a thrill to collaborate with our friends at Ocean Art Gallery and be a part of this extraordinary event where art & wine enthusiasts were able to enjoy local art along the A1A corridor without the hassle and gas-wasting cost of driving/parking and help support the Hope to Help Foundation too! The art venue owners included in this Shuttle experience prepared their businesses with beautiful art, wine tastings, and special offerings to welcome everyone. Each shuttle participant also received a gift bag pictured here filled with promotions, coupons, and samples from local area businesses; we had the opportunity to include one of our super cool premium passports to the Passport to Explore A1A: Wine & Spirits Tour in each gift bag and encouraged all participants to swing by Flagler Beachfront Winery and collect a passport stamp while exploring Flagler Beach!

We’re thrilled to announce that we’re starting to partner with other travel sites to spread the word about A1A in other languages! It gives us great pleasure to share that our first collaboration will be with our friends @FloridaDePerto, a spectacular Florida travel site. If you know of somebody that speaks Portuguese, please let them know about Florida de Perto where fellow Brazilians can get great content about Florida and A1A; saúde!

Thanks to the A1A-tomic efforts of the collaboration with our friends and Florida travel experts at Beaches, Bars and Bungalows, A1A explorers everywhere can expand their road trip experience by claiming a free copy of ‘PASSPORT TRAVELER’S COMPANION’ – an insider’s guide to some of coastal Florida’s best kept secrets for places to eat and stay in and around each stop on the Passport to Explore A1A: Wine & Spirits Tour.

Through the generosity of members of our families, friends, like-minded kindred spirits, fellow explorers, crowdfunding supporters, sponsors, and 7 extraordinary artisan locations, the first in a series of epic road trips was launched to showcase the truly unique and authentic in and around Florida’s favorite coastal highway A1A. The resulting Passport to Explore A1A: Wine & Spirits Tour is a one-of-a-kind tasting experience that can only be described as pure Florida!

Long before we ever had a website, in the wee hours of the morning when we were deciding on the type of community we wanted to build, we decided effecting environmental change would be an important part of our mission. We knew if we wanted to effect lasting change far greater than we could accomplish on our own, we needed to reach out to organizations already leading the environmental charge. This led us to our very first collaboration with the Sea Turtle Conservancy, the world’s oldest and most accomplished sea turtle research and conservation organization.

Know of another organization that might make a good collaborative fit with us, please contact us!

Coastal Road Trip from Amelia Island to Key West
Passport to Explore Florida’s Legendary Highway A1A with the First Wine and Spirits Tour

JACKSONVILLE, FL – Almost everyone has heard of the wonders to be discovered on Route 66 and California’s Pacific Coast Highway. Now an adventurous group in Florida presents an East Coast partner for these iconic highways. It is a Passport to Explore Highway A1A, the 600 “miles of smiles” from Amelia Island south to Key West. A series of destinations and activities via a Passport to Explore A1A gives visitors and locals a new way to enjoy and find out more about this road that has inspired artists, outdoor enthusiasts and explorers of every kind. Final touches are being added to the first Wine and Spirits Tour and details will be available on www.ExploreA1A.com.

The effort began in January 2015, followed by a successful crowdfunding campaign completed in April 2016 which permitted developing the first Passport Tour. The theme of this tour was determined by popular vote through social media. The winning theme was wineries and distilleries and the inaugural event has been named the Wine and Spirits Tour. Seven extraordinary destinations are included: Marlin & Barrel Distillery, Fernandina Beach; St. Augustine Distillery, St. Augustine; San Sebastian Winery, St. Augustine; Flagler Beachfront Winery, Flagler Beach; Endless Summer Vineyard & Winery (now Summer Crush Vineyard & Winery), Ft. Pierce; Schnebly Redland’s Winery, Brewery & Restaurant, Homestead; and Key West First Legal Rum Distillery, Key West.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to kick off our first collaboration with these 7 exceptional artisans and hope fellow explorers will return from these one-of-a-kind tasting experiences with fully-stamped passports, A1A-mazing memories and lots of great stories to tell” said company Chief Expedition Officer Tina Cherpes adding, “that’s what the Passport to Explore A1A is all about; extraordinary collaborations that build epic road trips, unique experiences, and memories that will last a lifetime.”

“St. Augustine Distillery is honored to be a participant in Passport to Explore A1A’s Wine & Spirits Tour,” said Kara Pound, the Distillery’s Director of Communications. “We are passionate about all things Florida and love sharing our story of creating world class spirits using regional agriculture as guests tour our facility, the State’s first commercial ice plant building.”

The company looks forward to building a strong community with fellow explorers and enthusiasts of this iconic route and invites you to join them on Instagram (@ExploreA1A), Twitter (@ExploreA1A), and Facebook (ExploreA1Acom). While the Wine and Spirits Tour highlights only a few communities on and near A1A, the entire route passes through some of the most extraordinary seaside communities on the planet. Some are well-known, others are treasures awaiting discovery by new explorers of A1A.
