Timucuan Trail: Easy, Scenic Escape for Bicyclists

“Vacationette” is my term, invented in the 1980s for a cheap day trip, often done on short notice. When one lives in Neptune Beach, it’s easy to get out of town for a vacationette — by going six blocks north, I’m out of town!On a foggy Tuesday morning in April, I took a six-hour vacationette by bicycle, with a total cost of about $14.50 which included ferry boat rides and breakfast.
