College students are a noticeable presence this week in Daytona Beach, arriving for Spring Break in larger numbers than the area has seen for perhaps five years, according to experienced observers.

But, sorry kids, this isn’t your father’s Spring Break. All that vomit-tinged mayhem of the 1980s and early ’90s happened before you were born, but the ancient history is chronicled in “Spring Broke,” a new documentary that premieres Friday on Showtime.
