Researchers Hunting for Cancer Fighting Sea Sponges

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Imagine if the cure for cancer was right off our Florida coasts on the ocean floor? Researchers from Florida Atlantic University are on the hunt for sea sponges that can fight cancerous cells.They’ve recently discovered certain types of sponges right off the coast of Fort Lauderdale that are showing properties that may help patients with cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. Some currently battling cancer say it’s offering hope.
