Pirates, treasure hunters and mermaids will celebrate all weekend at the second annual Vero Beach Pirate Festival at Riverside Park. The free event will be Friday through Sunday and features historical re-enactments, live music, authentic weaponry and demonstrations, including sword fights and cannon firings. There also will be costume contests and treasure hunts for kids.
