The Central Basketball Development League has announced that after spending two years in Orlando, the South Florida Spartans have come to an agreement with DME Sports Arena in Daytona Beach to make the arena the official home of the team.

The team will also change its team name to the Florida Lakers, officials said.”This is a great opportunity to work within the DME Sports Arena and give our players a very professional and stable environment for our players to play,” CEO and head coach Benjamin Mireles said. “DME is a very professional facility where our players will be getting top level professional elite training, film sessions, continuous skill assessment test being conducted and much more to evaluate players’ increase and decrease in their development.

DME Sports is a new 47,000-square-foot event center, in addition to being an athletic facility. Officials said the venue features two pro-style NBA regulation courts that can convert into four youth courts and a shooting lab.It also has room to convert those into seven different volleyball courts and have multiple strategy rooms for video analysis and entertainment for the athletes, officials said.
