Jerry and Judi Hiebert do, and they’re pleased as spiked punch about it.What’s even better, their Whiskey Beach Pub is is just a hop away from their new house in Satellite Beach.The Hieberts, who both hail from Miami, have an unusual background for pub owners. He was previously a locksmith, an entrepreneur and in security and construction companies. She was the registrar and head of admissions at the City of Pembroke Pines Charter Elementary School.

Question: How did you get into the pub business?
Jerry: I like a challenge and wanted to get some experience with a bar. I have friends who have done well with them, and I wanted something close to our new home.

Q: What makes Whiskey Beach special?
Judi: The unique, laid-back beach atmosphere and the great mixture of people, both locals and seasonal visitors. It’s a place where you can sit back and relax while listening to live music. We’ve got a mixture of entertainment throughout the week that will please all types of people. It’s a place that feels like home.

Q: Signature drink and signature food?
Judi: For a drink, Whiskey On the Beach (Southern Comfort, a touch of pineapple and a dash of fresh squeezed lime). For food, the Whiskey Beach Pub Cuban Sandwich, our version of a Cuban. It’s a panini-pressed Cuban with pulled pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mayo, mustard and barbecue sauce on a Cuban roll…
