North and South Hutchinson Island spans the length of St. Lucie County along southwest Florida’s Treasure Coast. The island’s 22 miles of bleached white beaches lined with palm trees make the perfect spot for horseback riding, an activity allowed in only a few areas of the state. The St. Lucie County Parks and Recreation Department offers rides with permits if you want to ride your own horse on the beach.
