Fort Pierce Marina Re-opens 11 Years After Hurricane Francis

A downtown attraction in south Florida’s Sunrise City officially re-opened Saturday, the Fort Pierce Marina.It was destroyed during Hurricane Francis and took 11 years and more than $30 million to rebuild.Not long ago, you’d look out from the pier and see water.Now there are four docks and 137 new slips. It all opened within the last two months.It’s a stark contrast to the damage from Hurricane Francis in 2004.
