The city of Fort Lauderdale was recently designated a bronze-level Walk Friendly Community by the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center, a North Carolina-based agency. Walk Friendly Communities is a national program aimed at recognizing communities for their commitment to pedestrian safety. Fort Lauderdale is one four Florida cities and 65 U.S. cities selected.
