Two new concepts from Chef Kenny Gilbert of Fernandina Beach-based Gilbert’s Underground Kitchen and Southside’s Gilbert’s Social are opening on Tuesday, Jan. 9. Gilbert’s Southern Kitchen & Bar and Gilbert’s Hot Chicken, Fish & Shrimp will be opening at the former space of Seachasers at 831 1st St. N. in Jacksonville Beach, which closed on Jan. 1. Gilbert’s Southern Kitchen & Bar will be upstairs with a menu of modernized yet traditional southern fare, with a heavy emphasis on seafood and barbecue.
