Deerfield Beach Posts Sea Turtle 911 at Pier

Sharp, steel hooks and stray fishing lines threaten endangered lives — so a 911 for sea turtles is now prominently displayed on Deerfield Beach’s fishing pier.Tuesday the city-run Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier officially became the 38th pier in the country — and the fourth in South Florida — to put tools for saving sea turtles within easy reach of pier-goers through an effort led by the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach.
