The town of Longboat Key is considering dimming lights to reduce the number of disoriented turtle hatchlings on its beaches.The Herald-Tribune reports the town is looking at changes to its ordinance limiting artificial lights along the beach. The lights can interfere with turtles returning to the water and disorient hatchlings from the hundreds of sea turtle nests laid there each year.
