New Smyrna Beach has long been a popular spot for locals but recently this quaint and eclectic beach town has caught on with an influx of visitors who have put it on the map as a weekend hot spot. Over the last year Scott Steger, owner of EXIT Reality and president of the Flagler Avenue Business Association, has watched Flagler Avenue and Canal Street become a hive of activity spurred by an influx of independently-owned restaurants and businesses that are flourishing. And despite its reputation as the “Shark Bite Capital of the World,” New Smyrna Beach has always been a haven for surfers who come for the waves.
