This weekend, surfer girls of all ages and skill levels will come together in Cocoa Beach to celebrate the surfing sisterhood at the sixth annual Florida Women of the Waves Weekend event.

This two-day event features yoga, surf movies, live music, good food, and of course — plenty of surfing.With waves forecast to hold steady in the waist-high range and light offshore winds, the surf gods will be smiling on this family-friendly festival Saturday. The Women of the Waves Weekend welcomes and celebrates board riders of all persuasions to share waves mindfully and safely. Men are always welcome at the Women of the Waves Weekend.

Doors open at 6:45 p.m., movie starts at 7:30

Saturday, Oct. 10
9-10 a.m. Beach yoga: Gentle Sun Salutations with Patricia Sissy Woodsford Dittrick
10 a.m-1 p.m.  Surfing social. BYOBoard, and trade waves, smiles and good times with your fellow surf chicks.
Lori Wilson Park (south side), 1500 N Atlantic Ave. There is no fee to park here.
6:30-10 p.m.  Potluck BBQ and live music by Honey Miller Acoustic.
Cocoa Beach Country Club Pavilion. Tom Warriner Boulevard, off Minutemen Causeway.
Charge $5 per person, please bring your favorite covered dish to share, BYOB. Everyone is welcome to this Florida Surf Museum sponsored event.
