Last year, the Ocean Conservancy says, 560,000 volunteers in 91 countries picked up more than 16 million pounds of trash during its 2014 International Coastal Cleanup.Keys residents can do their part for this year’s Coastal Cleanup, set for Saturday.

The Florida Keys Scenic Highway Alliance along with the Ocean Conservancy has planned a cleanup of all of U.S. 1, from Key Largo through Key West.Every business or group that has adopted a mile of U.S. 1 through the Florida Department of Transportation Adopt-A-Highway Program is encouraged to clean their mile Saturday and others are asked to join.
