There’s a new trendy restaurant making waves on the sands of Hallandale Beach. It’s Hyde Beach Kitchen and Cocktails which features spectacular dining inside and out.

The look is light, beachy, airy and sophisticated.“You come to the second floor and you feel you’re in a small town in the Mediterranean. You can still see the seagulls fly over and smell the ocean. It’s beautiful, described Watson.Chef Sergio Chamizo says Hyde has a menu that covers it all.“We have a great variety of seafood. We have around 5 different varieties of seafood. We have a great raw bar with lobster, scallops, shrimp, oysters, everything,” described Chamizo.

Creative cocktails are as important as the food, including their long and lean Ginger Spiced Mojito.“Wow! It’s got kick. It’s got citrus and it’s got fun!” exclaimed CBS4’s Lisa Petrillo after sipping the drink.Chef Chamizo prepared a Kale Kimchee Salad with fried tofu, pumpkin seeds and avocado; and then a Pumpkin Brioche with maple butter and salt.“It just tastes like a pumpkin dessert,” gushed Petrillo. “Almost like a pumpkin pie in a yummy warm hug.”

Up next was a true Spanish style grilled octopus with saffron potatoes.  It’s a dish authentic to Spain.Hesitant to try oxtail, Petrillo didn’t mind the Oxtail Bucatini with red wine and garlic.“The Bucatini is cooked al dente so it’s the right blend of the smooth of the meat with a lot of flavor and then a lot of the bite of the pasta,” she explained after taking a bite of the delicious dish.

Finally, dessert and the perfect size key lime pie which Petrillo said is a must have!Hyde Beach Kitchen and Cocktails is open 7 days a week for dinner. The Hyde Beach Bar is open for breakfast and lunch.
