Turtle Taxsea is giving back to the community once again. The fiberglass sculpture created 15 years ago by local artist Ruth Holt as part of the Mental Health Association’s “Turtle Trax — Overcoming Hurdles with Turtles” project, recently helped raise $250,000 to benefit The Source, which provides needed services to the county’s homeless. Anthony Zorbaugh, executive director of The Source, decided to use the turtle as a thank-you gift to the benefactor who wishes to remain anonymous. “(The benefactor) is a big fan of the turtles that are still on display in the community,” said Zorbaugh. “When I told her we were going to give her the turtle for supporting The Source, she cried. She plans on putting the turtle right in her garden.”
