The painting “Big Garlic,” chosen as this year’s South Florida Garlic Fest poster, originated with a Southern rock band. Artist Rebecca Loveless wanted to evoke a feeling of joy with the piece, inspired by the classic Allman Brothers album cover, “Eat a Peach.” Loveless wasn’t expecting the judges to love the painting, but the selection motivated her to create other garlic inspirations. She’s since painted 30 6-by-6-inch paintings for the show that she said embraced her creativity.
