At first glance, the faded, yellow, single-story home in Cocoa Beach looks unassuming and similar to others on the street. Take a closer look, however, and you’ll start to see clues that paint a picture of change.A small grill sits in front of the garage, its black cover askew, just a few short steps from the kitchen. Several pairs of running shoes line up on the terrazzo walkway near the front door. And inside, a man with reddish-blonde hair in a slim-fit shirt darts around the kitchen. His daughters watch from the table as he prepares a fresh raspberry vinaigrette for the evening’s meal.This is the home of Michael and Michelle Higgins. A couple of years ago, this scene would have looked completely different.
