It was the “food nirvana” that sold Vanessa Cifuentes and her husband on Jimmy Hula’s. The married U.S. Air Force veterans had spent much of their military lives stationed in California, so it was fitting that their civilian-life venture of opening a restaurant included cuisine reminiscent of the Golden State – namely fish and turf tacos and gourmet burgers, and apropos, too, they locate it within walking distance of the beach.
