After June first any personal property left behind after 8 p.m. on Amelia Island’s shores will be removed and destroyed thanks to a new ordinance.Items like beach chairs and canopy frames have been left on the thirteen mile stretch of beach where many sea turtles nest. Last year the Amelia Island Sea Turtle watch marked 35 nests in May, the first month of the season.
