With its warm clear water and abundance of scuba diving opportunities, Key Largo prides itself as the “diving capital of the world.” A bit farther down Highway 1 in Islamorada is the History of Diving Museum (located on the bayside at 82990 Overseas Hwy) where divers, students, history buffs and anyone else can take a journey through the eons of underwater exploration without even getting their hair wet. As Forrest Gump may have said, scuba diving and the first rate diving museum go together “like peas and carrots.”
