Retirement for many is an opportunity for relaxation, but when John Burnside sold his Meineke Car Care Center in Helena in December of 2014, he decided to the first part of his retirement on a bicycle trip. His goal was to bike all the way across the American Continent.And he did. Over 45 days, Burnside traveled from San Diego, California, to Fernandina, Florida. He only had to replace one tire and only fell off his bike one time: as he entered the beach in Fernandina and tried to make his way to the Atlantic.
