Cue the spotlights! The 10th annual Key West Film Festival is set to open Nov. 17-21. Organizers say they have received a record number of film submissions for the 2021 festival — twice as many this year than any in the festival’s decade-long history. With more and more talented filmmakers and submissions, the festival is adding new awards, including the New Rising Starfish Award: recognizing emerging talent with breakout potential, and Breakthrough Florida Filmmaker. The 10th-anniversary celebration also will feature the return of the Golden Key Award for Excellence in Costume Design, Gala film screenings, and Critics Panel, along with a new party at the Perry Hotel celebrating shorts filmmakers.
