Ben Costello has spent a lot of time studying the 1715 Fleet lost at sea along the Florida coast 300 years ago this week.As director of the 1715 Fleet Society, Costello and his fellow historians are at the Vero Beach Museum of Art this week for a conference about the bounties of lost treasure lying under the sea after 11 ships sunk during a hurricane on July 31, 1715.
