Highway A1A in Flagler Beach Restored After Hurricane Damage

Florida Gov. Rick Scott said last week that A1A, the historic and picturesque coastal byway in Flagler Beach that had been closed after being compromised and damaged by Hurricane Matthew, has reopened after a 1.3 mile stretch of damaged roadway was restored. The announcement came just 18 days after Scott requested the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to speed up the re-establishment of two-way traffic on A1A.
