Pretty much everywhere you turn in Florida you’ll find something just a little weird. Sure, you could swim with dolphins, get lost at the world’s biggest flea market, or take your family to Hogwarts, but then you’d miss out on these hidden gems. The Keys are home to some weird museums, hotels, and ghosts that can turn any boring vacation into a successful one. Here’s your guide to the offbeat Florida Keys.

1. Key West Lighthouse
According to the legend, the Key West flame was lit for many years by lonely lighthouse keeper Barbara Mabrity. Her ghost is still seen by many today, slowly climbing the 88 steps, (often more than once a night) to light the way for oncoming ships.

Visitors also claim to experience encounters with many of the victims of typhoid fever who died at the lighthouse. Their ghosts are often seen roaming the grounds late at night before disappearing into a misty cloud.
