Almost three hours away, the length of Interstate 4, the Tampa Bay Lightning are just two wins from capturing hockey’s ultimate prize — the Stanley Cup — for the second time. Natives of the Sunshine State have warmed up to the “Coolest Game on Earth,” to the tune of sellout crowds and record TV ratings. But pro hockey in Florida wasn’t always a success story, especially here in Daytona Beach, where teams in two leagues folded in a four-year span.
