Fort Mose’s Legacy to be Honored in St. Augustine

The legacy of Fort Mose will come to life in St. Augustine during a special event as part of Black History Month.The Castillo de San Marcos National Monument will host ‘Castillo by Candlelight: Flight to Freedom’ on Saturday, February 20.Volunteers will share the legacy of Fort Mose as the first legally sanctioned free African settlement in what would become the United States.
