The Dude would definitely abide an exhibition of “Big Lebowski”-themed art at Old School Square in Delray Beach. He digs his own vibe, and the likeness of the Dude — or El Duderino, if you’re fancy — will adorn every bowling pin, Cowichan sweater and painting inside the square’s Crest Theatre. The occasion is “Dude Night With the Big Lebowski,” an evening of fans celebrating the White Russian-sipping antihero that will feature themed works and a bowling-pin art auction. The Coen brothers’ hyperintellectual 1998 bowling-comedy whodunit is a classic, its vault of quotable dialogue (“the rug really tied the room together, did it not?”) inspiring national conventions and online listicles devoted to the cult of a disheveled stoner with cool glasses.
