About 20 people braved a wind chill of 33 degrees in an open picnic pavilion at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach to hear Frank Gromling talk about North Atlantic Right whales.

Gromling, who owns Ocean Books & Art in Flagler Beach and authored “Frank’s Whales,” was a founder of the Marineland Right Whale Project, a group composed almost totally of volunteers who watch for right whales during the migration season, from January through mid-March.
