Don your best blue, white and red apparel and get ready to celebrate all that is French. American locals and French citizens alike come together July 14 to celebrate France’s national holiday, Bastille Day. Similar to America’s Fourth of July, Bastille Day gives French people a chance to show off their national pride. The holiday, named after the famous storming of the Bastille, or French prison, to free citizens who spoke against King Louis XVI, gives everyone here in the U.S. the opportunity to express their love of French culture, and try out delicious cuisine too.
