A whole month paying homage to bourbon making? We’ll drink to that!

Yup, that’s right. September is Bourbon Heritage Month and has been since the U.S. Senate signed it into law in 2007. The bill reinforced the 1964 Act of Congress that declared bourbon “America’s Native Spirit” by celebrating the family heritage, tradition and legacy that the bourbon industry contributes to this country.

Did you know production of bourbon has more than doubled since 1999 and much of it (4.9 million barrels) can be found gently aging in Kentucky? But you don’t have to fly to the Bluegrass State to enjoy the good stuff.Lounges at Florida resorts and restaurants are serving up some mighty good bourbon concoctions this month and beyond.
