As musket smoke clears in the early morning hours of June 26, 1740, a grand Spanish army stands victorious over the British in the Battle of Bloody Mose.The battle took place in the fields of Fort Mose, a sanctuary for runaway English slaves just two miles north of St. Augustine, said Andrew Batten, a re-enactor with Florida Living History Inc.Members of Florida Living History took to those same fields Saturday morning to re-enact the battle, 275 years later. This year marks the sixth year it has been portrayed at Fort Mose.
