Every year, decorated boats run down the Banana River for the residents and visitors of Cocoa Beach to enjoy from the water’s edge. Sponsored by the Cocoa Beach Rotary Club, the parade starts at Marker 101 and runs south through the residential canals. Marker 101, which is near Centennial Park on State Road 520, is across from Cape Canaveral Hospital. Participating vessels can register the night of the event at 5 p.m. at Marker 101 with Walter on his 36-foot boat, “Dolphins Leap.” Each boat that registers must sign a form verifying that all Captains will ensure that no candy or other items are to be tossed from the boat to spectators onshore.
